Greet guest in a friendly and professional manner
Taking the reservation, record the information (name of party, number of people, time, telephone, and special requests), answer the
telephone correctly, welcome guests who approach the entrance and use the guest’s name as much as possible and recognize the guest of long-stay in.
Clarify the guest’s reservation and seat them if their table is ready with ladies first. Always at Host person stand when there is no seating
guest.
Check the reservation/log book to identify V.I.P’s and open times, double check and follow up all special arrangements have been made
(cake request etc)
Check the surroundings to make sure all items are in proper order (temperature, light, entrance display, floor and carpet etc). Report to
manger with any necessary adjustment.
Describe menu selections correctly to the guests
Call all in-house and outside guests or more to reconfirm time and number at the start, check to make sure all pre-set menus are printed.
Host person to place napkins on guests’ laps, introduces the captain to the table
